iTunes Gift Cards: Saudi or US Store? How to Pick the Right One

Buying an iTunes gift card for the first time usually raises one question: Saudi or US? It matters, because the wrong choice means a code your account cannot redeem. The good news is that the rule behind it is simple.

The golden rule: the card follows your account region

Every iTunes gift card is issued for one specific country store. A Saudi card only redeems on an Apple ID registered in Saudi Arabia, and a US card only redeems on a US-registered Apple ID. There is no way to convert a card between stores, and Apple's system rejects codes from a different region every time.

So before you buy anything, check your account country. It takes half a minute.

How to check your Apple ID region

Open the App Store app, tap your profile picture at the top, then tap your name. Your account country appears in the account details. Another quick signal: if app prices show in SAR your account is Saudi, and if they show in USD it is American.

When do you actually need a US card?

Most users in Saudi Arabia need the Saudi card, because that is where their account is registered. A US card is for specific situations:

  • You keep a separate US Apple ID for apps and games that are not available on the Saudi store.
  • You want subscriptions that are offered on the US store only.
  • Some games release content or offers on the US store first.

If none of these apply to you, buy the Saudi card and move on.

Denominations we carry

At AUJ we stock both stores, all prices VAT inclusive:

  • Saudi store: SAR denominations from 50 up to 2,500, including the popular 50, 100, 200 and 500 tiers, sold at face value.
  • US store: USD denominations from $2 up to $500, including $5, $10, $25, $50 and $100.

How delivery and redemption work

Delivery is digital and instant. As soon as your payment completes, the code appears on your order page. No waiting, no back and forth.

To redeem: open the App Store app, tap your profile picture, choose Redeem Gift Card or Code, and enter it. The amount lands in your Apple ID balance immediately and works for apps, games, in-app purchases and subscriptions like Apple Music and iCloud+.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Buying a US card for a Saudi account. The most frequent mistake by far. The code will not be accepted, so confirm your account region first.
  • Typing the code by hand. Copy it from your order page and paste it instead.
